Frequently asked web design questions
We need to discuss your individual requirements with you either face to face or on the telephone / skype. If you are based in or near to Southampton we are happy to visit your place of business or meet for a relaxed coffee at a location convenient to you.
Preferably, you’ll need to supply us with the content for your website, this includes copy for each page. However, if you don’t have time we offer a copywriting service and this can be included in your quote. We can also source royalty-free stock images for your website.
We are not a web hosting company as we prefer our clients to be responsible for their own hosting and have complete ownership. We won’t lock you into long term hosting package with us. We can recommend a reliable web hosting company and can help set this up for you.
This depends on the competition of your market and the authority of the other websites you are competing with. We recommend retaining our services on a rolling monthly basis so we can continuously work on your SEO strategy and help improve your search engine rankings and website traffic. Search engine optimisation isn’t a ‘set and forget’ solution. It’s a continuous process and should be part of your monthly marketing budget.
WordPress is used by over a third of the world’s top 10 million websites. There are many excellent reasons why the WordPress CMS is so popular…
Search Engine Friendly
With WordPress there are plugins available which can help optimise your site for SEO such as Yoast. There’s still a difference between search engine friendly and search engine optimised. Your site won’t magically rank in Google but with our knowledge on how best to use these plugins, your site will have a solid foundation to build on.
Great for Blogs
Building a blog to send traffic to your website is perfect for building a following and keeping visitors on your site for longer. Regular blog posts help highlight to web visitors that you are an expert in your industry and builds trust.
Easy to Maintain
WordPress is easier to update in comparison to custom HTML. For example, let’s say you want to change the overall design of your site, with WordPress new design themes can be installed quickly. Updating plugins and themes is simple – one click to update.
As WordPress is used so widely there is a huge worldwide community of designers and developers who are constantly updating its core. Million dollar businesses rely on WordPress so there’s no danger of it disappearing.
We use fast, premium WordPress themes and developer plugins which help us to create bespoke designs to match your brand.
You can ask any agency or developer why you should use a professional – content delivery. Building your own website in Wix or another free platform might seem like a good idea but what happens when you have questions like these?
- Which photos should I use?
- I found these photos on Google that are free. I can use those, right?
- What should I say on my homepage?
- I’ll create a Service page and just list my services just like my competitor. I guess I can just copy/paste, right?
- Why doesn’t my logo fit?
- Those colours in my logo don’t match the template’s colours. Hmm, hex codes?
- I just need the right meta tags on my website for Google to put me at #1, right?
- I don’t want anyone to call me so I’ll use my email address. But how do I setup my email with my new domain?
- Should I use my home address on my contact page?
- This photo my mum took of me at my sister’s wedding will look great on my About page!?
- I need new photos, I think I need a photographer but she’s not available for 3 weeks.
- I read that I should have Google Analytics. Where do I get that? They want me to create an account?
